In the specialist field of library relocation, there is a direct correlation between an efficient and successful outcome and the level of experience and knowledge of your relocation partner. Atlantis is Australia’s undisputed leader in library relocations. Our proven methodologies save you time, money and headaches.
With substantial information technology networks, artworks, archival services and rare book collections, a modern library relocation may involve more than the simple transportation of books. It is a project that must combine strategic planning, risk analysis, communication and time management. Success also depends on using the right techniques, systems and specialist equipment. On each project Atlantis appoints a Project Manager to work side-by-side with library staff and to formulate a detailed strategy.
Our track record in this field highlights the fact that our people are the most experienced and capable in Australia. Some of our key people have backgrounds in library services and have performed some of the largest collection relocations in Australia. Communication is crucial – we provide regular documented feedback to ensure performance targets are met.
Our methods, along with our highly trained packing team and purpose built trolleys, ensure that the sequential order of items stays intact. Our sequential relocation processes reduce downtime significantly.
Smart Pack® is an Atlantis developed system in which we have perfected the systematic pack and unpack of library and filing areas.
Atlantis developed specialised library moving equipment to transport collections safely, securely and efficiently. This includes caged trolleys with wide shelves suited to large format and heavy newspaper volumes. We utilise purpose-designed 3-4 level book trolleys for standard collection material. These trolleys deliver efficiency as they can hold one standard library shelf of books per level. After packing, our trolleys are enclosed by a steel covering to protect the consignment.
